hey all,

I am not such a big fan of enveloping/skinning , more over creating efficient rigs.
here is my spiderman model whihc i am trying to rig and skin right now. and i am havig hell of a time making bends, joints working nicely. I am sure blend shapes, helps, but i want a good skin initally without shapes.

any reference, tutorials, xsi tips on how to acheive a better envelope etc needed. thanks.

in which case , careful skin weighting is the key..


eventually blendshapes give maximum control.. or else u may want to set cage deformers with blendshapes to localized clusters for those tricky joints
