Any good carbon fiber shader (or hints to create it) for maya or mr for maya out there?

If I remember right - I used a procedural texture in maya for mine. Its gives a hatched fibre-like effect. I mapped this into the ambience and a copy into the bump. Then created an outer spoiler surface that had a flat transparent shader with a high specular.
only a starting point I know and probably not even that but hell its a reply :D

it's for mentallray for max. but you could just transfer the shader to mentalray for maya if you have max

Thanks pixero. Will try in Maya when I find some time.
I had only a couple of hours to generate a set of images for the client yesterday. I ended up finishing the job in AutoStudio (which I used to build the model anyway). I projected a cloth procedural texture to the color channel and turned clearcoat on to add some fresnel effect. A triplanar projection added realism to the nature of directional ply material. It worked quite nicely all together.
Unfortunately I can't seem to be able to post an image here.
The Max shader looks quite nice indeed but I don't have Max to deal with .mat files... However if anyone translates the file to mr I'll try it :)

i use the layered shader (layered mix8) and the bumpCombiner. so you need thouse to make it work.
