C&C on the mesh , anatomy ., some advices on creating the shaders for the mesh .

The body is very well modelled! The topology of the mesh is clean and flowing, I think you should try and be carefully not to make the edges of the muscles too angluar for example around the 6 pack. Maybe the shader will smooth this out.

How about the helmet material having some dents and scratches around the edges, where two metal parts might rub and some battle scars/dents. I'd use a combination of specularity and bump maps to achieve the effect. Also I'd make the metal use an almost multi-coloured galvanised steel look to add interest and avoid the flat "grey" colour that otherwise could end up looking like plastic. Make sure everything in the material is dirtied up!
Really looking forward to seeing more of this...Is it going to be animated?

Defenedly hope so . The original project was to create a small movie from the predator and alien (not builded et) , yes thats a good idea for the helemt making it more dept and a bit rusty like in the original AVP logo:

For the head only thing that is missing are they eyes and hair (eyes i can add at any time ) but i wont add them now , because all they will do now is make more lags , for the hair , i need to model the entire model than the net , than the shoulder cannon and the chest / back armour , and only after that i can model the hair . Otherwise i would have to reposition it . i will start modeling the legs this week and the arms on this / next week

Update :
Progress going wery slow , because i got college and that is giving me wery litle time ...
Fixed some anatomy isues , and started making the shader (still wip) just experimenting there will be much more detail on it ! :)

I have to say that what you've done so far is really quite impressive. I only have one small problem with this...

why predator?

You've obviously got a lot of skill, so why not put it to a project of your own devising, rather than on a rather indifferent set of films? Or is this just an exercise to hone your skills and you're a fan of predator?

It would be nice to see what you could do with your own designs, your own alien... it's just that people are quick to dismiss what they've already seen...

But hey, maybe you'll prove me wrong. So far, I'm impressed with your work.

Well its just that i am a huge predator fan and the fact how they changed the predator from the 1st 2 movies to AVP inspired me so much in avp the predator has so much weapons and i thought if i model him i could get a model with incredible amouth of details in result :)

I think this model is great!!! I have to agree with Awoogamuffin that people disregard things they already are familiar with. Nevertheless your model is so well done that I think it will catch the eye of even those who hate the predator!

Waiting for the finished model!!! and the textures too!! can't wait to see them... exellent work!

The model is well constructed. Great work!!! I just think the body is just a little too perfectly defined, if you know what I mean. If you add a little variation to the body, you'll add a lot of character and life to your model. I'm really liking your style. Continue posting, we'd all like to see more.

The bio-mask looks awesome man. I really liked the lower holes for the airtubes. The predator is also looking great, I would have to say Id like there to be larger mandibles, but thats just me.

Looks good to me, except for one thing. The mask. As I looked at the thread pictures of the mask came first and I'm sorry to say I didn't even recognize it as the predators mask. Its an ok looking mask but I think its a bit to clean, and I don't mean in colour and texture (as you haven't added that yet).

I'll try to explain what I think is a bit of in your design:
When I look on the original design I see lines that remind me of a skull of some sort... eh.. well, in your design it looks more like a hi-tech police helmet ore something. I'm not saying its bad, it just isn't very predator to me.

In short I'd try to go for a more organic look. Add some more depth and try to make things a bit less angular. And also some imperfection in the lines maybe... get what I mean?

The predator looks cool, but it could use some "roughing up" :)

Yes i will fix everything you pointed out , and the shader will be with much more details , right now i am building the legs i will post the update somewhere on wednesday :)

Ok update started modeling the legs (1st hes ass) still some fixes to do
and i am still experimenting with the shader, tring to find a perfect maych for a half reptile half human skin
