View Full Version : Graph editor to automatically show the item I've just clicked on...
DMack 08-31-2004, 03:25 PM ...another little question...I've set up a character (v basic!) and got some armatures to control him (wow those things are seriously cool!)...is there a way of getting the graph editor below to automatically show the armature that I've just clicked on...so if I need to tweak values or delete keys etc I don't have to select the item (item controlled by the armature) from the list?

you have to add another (controller select) armature in order to see it updated in the graph editor

MG is correct. Add another action to the handle. Add a Click type with a Controller Select action. And make sure the handle's Controller is set to the correct item (on the Handle block).

Thanks to both of you. Armatures...They so rock! Will do as suggested!

Hmmmm, OK, I've done that....and it selects the item fine...what would be more useful is if it could select the correct channel aswell....or am I missing something here (newbie so always open to 'but why would you want to do that!')
Thanks

Keep in mind that Armature is a highly generalized system, not just for character control. The best way to think about Armatures is to think of programming. In programming, virtually nothing is assumed. This allows for a lot of power and flexibility. With armatures, if you want something to happen *you* must "code" it. In this case, just create an action that selects the desired channel.
Make sense?
