Well, I’ve finally decided to quit just critiquing and actually jump in on one of these contests. Really wanted to last round, but life got to hectic, hopefully I’ll make it thru. Livin in Seattle though gotz to take advantage of that sun while it sticks around, so we’ll see?! Hehe…

Okay, so here’s my idea; a cross between de Vinci’s flying machines, Lebbeus Woods artwork and a dragon. The character will be a characature based off my girlfriend. I’m hoping that way she won’t get mad at me if I spend to much time on this project! Hehe…:D

Kind of sloppy concept drawings, with way off perspective proportions, but you can kind of get the idea of where I’m thinkin of heading. Oh and I didn't draw the wings attached so you could get an idea of the the main body of it without them in the way.

Good luck to you all; I’m looking forward to this project, it’s going to be a good excuse for me to learn maya better. I’m normally a 3d max fellow.

Very cool design. Your girlfriend should enter the challenge too! (That's two people i've seen now that have concerns their girlfriend is going to kill them. A worrying trend!)

Well, I was planning on having some renders to show you today, finally got a chance to get a start on my model. Worked for a couple of hours last night and had my wings nearly all laid out when, kerplunk… damn hard drive crash. Tomorrow I definitely plan to post something, (we'll see how life treats me though!) if everything’s lost I may say screw it and just crank away in max, but does anyone know; I’m just learning Maya, last night I was to frustrated to even check, does Maya do an auto backup like 3d max? When I get off work, where should I look for it; does it have a Maya auto backup file in the Maya main directory too?:annoyed:
