Hi buddies.
I've been testing Mental Ray and MAX shaders to get a good result with a lamp model. The idea was to generate an accurate light simulation. I modeled a kinda lamp (...pretty simple crap), and I create a shader for the surface that covers the light.
I tried with the translucent lume shader but Im not a master with this shaders and I didn't find good documentation about Lume shaders...
I don't know if there are other ways to do this.
I followed this tutorial (http://www.lume.com/manual/html/Tutorial-LumeLight.html) by Lume, but some stuff are missed... like the Illumination shader that must be applied to the light.
Here (http://www.isparm.edu.ar/test/test_translucence.zip)is the MAX (6) file if you wanna check my settings and try yourself to get a better result.
Here you can see what I rendered:

Ok guys... I know it looks pretty bad till now... but I propose to generate some shaders like this and maybe collaborate in this way with Jeff Patton's (great!) thread (http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?t=104578), adding this later to his shader library.
I'll be working on it
