View Full Version : Detail & UV-map in MAYA

Hy to all!
I'm a new user in Maya... I need learning something that I can't do....

1) - I create an object by a simple extrusion... (polys)
2) - Now map the object usin planar map (the only way is to selct faces and than uv-mao)
3) - And now I must modify the extrude's tassellation into U and V direction...
4) - The object cannot keep the UVmap correctly.... Only if I reduce tassellation, because if I increase tassellation the newer poly haven't correct UV-map....

I need to do this to have an object more flexibile to shift into an object with low or high details.... And have the possibility to move/scale the UV tool...
In 3dsmax, uvmaps can depend by object and/or faces.... Can I have the same thing in Maya? Or can I use another method?... Thanks to all
