Is there anyway to control the playing speed of your video easily ? I know about time remapping, but it is such a hassle to use. Is there a plug-in/function like the motion sketcher (or is it the wiggler) were you record your mouse's action.

I'd like to control my video clip easily, to be able to slow down, play backward and start again normally, and this just seems to take ages in AE...

thanks for your help,

mlk

It seems Realvis (from Matchmover) has a really expensive plugin for 'curve-controlling' the speed of a movie.

I would like to háve such a plugin really, but it's so expensive for just one plugin... (I think it should be build in...)

The plugin's called ReTimer, and has several flavors each getting more expensive after the SD (standard def.) plugin. It does a really good job in its subpixel interpretation, it actually creates new frames (instead of just "stretching") based on the pixels in the two intermediate frames.

Hence easier, a little, but very time consuming, even on faster machines it takes a while to render.

I think I've found it! Use the remapping function in the Layer menu! Then you get an exta contol layer (at same place as 'Transform' etc), were you can control time by a curve...! I'm going to try some cool things with it! :)

Yes but as I said in my first post it is actually a pain to use; I wonder why Adobe hasn't enhanced the speed playing capabilities of AE...
