View Full Version : Lighting/Shading/Blending color help
3li0t 08-29-2004, 05:24 PM Hi, im pretty new to ps7 and ive looked at acouple tutorials befor and i cant find any to shade and blend 2d black and white drawings, ive tried on my own but it doesnt come out very nice and the lighting doesnt look good. does anyone have any tips or urls that i can look at, it will help out alot.

the lighting doesnt look good I'm afraid that's just more a matter of drawing skillz than a PS tutorial my friend.
Basic drawing knowledge like using proper light source for highlights and shading, and knowing how to blend them to produce a convincing effect. You won't find many (if any) Photoshop specific tutes that will show you that. You have to look for basic drawing lessons.
On the plus side... it's not a hard subject to grasp.

Practice is your best way to learn this. There are many ways and looking at a tutorial usually won't fit your style and it will set you back. Try simple sketches using the brush tool and the smudge tool
