Hi!

I would like to know how can I make a movie play in loop mode? I have a 10 seconds movie in After Effects and I want to make it playing continue, without stopping. How can I make this?

By the way, how can I make it play, for example, 10 times and stop? So, I hit play, it plays for 10 times and stop after that?

Thanks!!! :thumbsup:

If you are reffering to how you can loop a single layer, in the project window... right click > interpret footage > set how many times you want it to loop. If you want your whole movie to loop, render it out uncompressed, bring it back into a new composition and do the same thing I just mentioned.

Thanks on reply!

I couldn't find the option. I go into the project window and select the layer. I hit right click > Interpret Footage > Main, but inside this option, I don't have anything for loop or something close to that. Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks

Does that help? maybe it didn't show up for you.. I can't think why... anyway all you have to do is enter how many times you want it to loop and off you go.

Thanks!!! Surely that has helped a lot!!! More then that, I guess it's impossible!!! :)

Sorry I couldn't reply earlier!!

So, I just want to thank you the way you used to explain, very clearly! :)

By the way, do you know how to make an infinite loop? Should I put 500 times? :) Or is there any more professional way?

Thanks again!! :thumbsup:

np... glad to help. I'm not sure how to loop it infinitely, I've never had the need although I have wondered. Check the help file maybe?

Thanks again!!!

Do you know how to play in reverse mode? I have talked to some people here and they said something about "Enable Time Remapping". Seems to work, but I couldn't make it work right. It shows a graph and I can't use it right. Is this the only way to play in reverse? If yes, can you explain me how to set this up? How do I use this graph? Should I click in the points?

How can I set to it play forward then backward?

Thanks!!! :thumbsup:

There's a trick for infinitely looping animations:

1) Pre-compose your animation;
2) For this newly created composition enable time remapping, it would create two keys in the first and last frame of this comp;
3) Set key for Time Remap at frame where your first repetition should start and then delete the one at the last frame of the comp;
4) Enter the expression for Time Remap like following: loop_out ("cycle", 1)
5) Now you have looping animation 'till the end of this comp (which you can always enlongate ;))

If you have one frame offset in the first repetition, you'd need to make one loop manualy inside your pre-comp.
Also you can change loop_out with loop_in if you need, put "pingpong" instead of "cycle" etc.

P.S. If you dont like ctrl+alt+r and want to make strictly with Time Remapping ;) just enable it and you'll have two keys like in #2 above - reverse their position with -1 frame offset - and you have it ;)

Thanks!!

I will see it later and back to you to tell if it worked! :)

Thanks for that!! :thumbsup:
