Haven't had the chance to look at the file myself, but looks lik bone softIK dynamics to me, using the new gravity feature and some followthrough (overlapping)
softIK huh?
It looks very natural. I'm hoping it will be usable for soft bodies like cheeks.
Ever watch a slowmo of a boxing match in which a punch is delivered to the opponent's face, and the flesh just goes everywhere at once?
Still looking for a good solution for that...

a temporary solution I would think to try would be something like restricting the NICKL deformer to the cheek polygons, and when it gets wit let the nickl take over hmm could work would have to see. anyways way to much happening here no time to chat.
Flipping through the XLR7 tut book... which looks like it's a repeat of the XL6 tutorial book...
do you have a page number by any chance?
I don't see anything that resembles this or anything refferenced as "tutorial 4"
