Hey all, I've always been a pretty good artist all the way through school but I've never really taken it anywhere. I was wondering if there were any professional tutorials online demonstrating how to do lighting techniques, proportions, shading, that sort of thing. Also it would be really helpful if they were done in photoshop.

Thanks!

In what category is the shading, proportion, etc in? Are you going to brush some renders, paint something, color some anime lineart, etc?

I have the same type of question so I'll add to this thread rather that start another...

I see some step-by-step processes that begin with a rough pencil sketch of the concept. My question is: do you scan in that sketch and gradually paint it in? If so, are there any basic rules to follow regarding layers, blending modes, tolerance, etc.

Also, I'll be investing in a Wacom tablet in the very near future... is tablet use pretty much standard practice or do many people simply use a mouse (if that's the case, I'm extremely impressed!)

For a good starting point, assume I'm starting with a pencil drawing that's been pretty well refined (lines sharpened, sketchy lines erased, etc.)... where do I go from here?

Thanks for any help I can get.
