View Full Version : Character: popstar girl
stegs 08-27-2004, 05:55 PM Hi, this is something I've been working on recently. I've never attempted a detailed work like this before but I hope it looks okay so far. There are some discrepencies in the modelling (particularly the face. No ears!) and the texture needs some finishing off. Having recently learned how to map properly I thought i would have a good go at this. I say it's taken me six days 2 for modelling, 2 for mapping and 2 for texturing but hopefully with practice I can bring that time down. Let me know what you think of the model. It's 2968 polys, I'll probably post some wires at the weekend if anyone's interested.

cool so far.
But i think it needs a bit more work.
-The hair is to "straight" give it more variation. It looks like it has too many polys too.
-The shirt i very loose under her braests. Don't has to be wrong. But it could be more sexy if you make it a little bit more tight.
-Darken the eyes a bit. She looks like she wants to hypnotize me
-The sideView shows that her trouser is nearly under her ass. Perhaps give her a string or if
she's a naughty girl some naked ass texture (my english rocks :D )

Looks more like a slutty goth girl, then a popstar.

It's a good job for your first detailed work. :)
In the ortho side view on the left, you may want to consider lifting her pants up so her ass is not showing so much. It seems alright from the front though.
As mentioned, tighten the shirt, cuz you cant see her shape/chest from the side when it's puffed out like that. If you look in the side view on the left... that's where you can see how it makes her look really flat.
And the baggy pants... the wrinkles you made should go the other way, ie. they should probably fold into themselves rather then come out as points... know what I mean?
Also, her shoulders are hunched slightly... relax them down a bit.
Finally, her feet look quite small from the side. Stretch em out a tad.
Most of the problems are in the side view... you probably spent most of your effort on the front view.
If she really was a popstar Id say she's a cross between Avril Levigne (sp?) and Christina Aguilera.... :scream:

Hi,
Thanks for the replies guys. The comments are really interesting and I'm gonna go and put them in place. I see what you mean about the wrinkles joe bloggs. I never really considered them as I was concentrating so much on the texture but you've both given me another view other than my own so that is very useful for me thanks. Here's an update with a few tweaks. I kind of like the eyes florian so i've left them as they are

Great!
The touch ups really helped.
Baggy pants look much better.
Feet look normal now.
Shoulders relaxed.
You brought her pants up a bit and it's better, but could still be improved if you're still working on it.... well, only from that one side view on the left.. everywhere else it look fine.
