View Full Version : Logo Explosian
Pretorian 08-27-2004, 04:14 AM Hi!
I would like to make an explosian. I have a logo and want to explode it. I used the Shatter effect to it. It works, but, the explosian is for only 3,4 seconds. How can I make it longer? I mean, how can I adjust the time of it?
The second problem is, how can I make the logo explode? Because, I applied the effect and it shows a draw, in this case, from glass explodin, but, how can I apply it "in" the logo, so it explodes the logo. I mean, it's like when you have two layers, and, in this case, the Shatter "layer" is over the logo, so, seems he didn't applied the effect in the logo. How do I fix it?
Hope to not be confusin... :)
Thanks!!!

Answer to 1st question:
You can make a new composition. Import (just move ;) ) the first composition of the exploding logo in that one. It becomes a new layer I think. Now select that layer, and go to the 'layer' menu (top of the screen-banner ;) ), and choose something like 'timestretch'. Now you can insert the time you want to take to play...
Hope you understand :)
[2nd question; I remember I've seen a 'explosion in AE'-tutorial on creativecow.net ==> surf around there ;) ]

Make sure you dont have the shatter effect set on wireframe. Once you've changed it to Rendered, you will be able to see the effect applied on your logo, but you will see an increase on AE rendering time.

Thanks for both replies! :)
I was wondering if one of you knows how to do this
http://www.ayatoweb.com/ae_tips_e/ae04_mov05_e.html. For this effect they used a plugin, but, I would like to know if I can make the same, or, at least near that effect, but without extra plugins.
So, any advice will be very welcome!
Once more, thanks a lot!!

No tnx for that reply ;)
About that link to that movie; first of all: it looks really cool! Now I see it, I also want to know how to make. Because of the 'regrouping' of the dots I'd think it done with some kind of 'morph' effect, but then in 3D. You could give it a try by using a 'reshape'-mask in AE...
Otherwise you could try to do it with some shatters with a special setup :)
Let me hear if it works ;)

Hi Dutchman!
Thanks on the reply!
I tried using the "shape" mask, it worked like particle. I already used "shatter" too, but wich will be this "special setup" you said?
Can you give me more detailed informations?
Thanks again!!
