The last challenge was so rushed for me I didn't have time to any full concept sketches, but for this one I most definetly will. This is the first of many.
My character is a Digger, or Tunnel Rat. Due to the Nuclear radiation, he has decided it best to stay below ground, except at night, when the nuclear radiation is at its lowest point due to the lack of additional punishment from the sun's now deadly UV rays. Extremely efficient and well equipped, he has established his place as an indefinite survivor of the harsh, post-apocolyptic Earth.
I'm leaving a lot of room for changes but....

After I woke up and took a look at my sketch I decided that I wanted to make my character more stylized. (last night I was sharpening my only dull pencil with a dull knife, hence the sloppy line quality of the first, but today I found a great mechanical pencil, made the drawing much bigger and took my time a little more. Now I'm quite happy with the result.
Here's the future proposals for stuff not yet in the sketch:
I will definitely be keeping the large mole-like gloves, but his left arm will be a different model all together, with a very much larger proportion. One small, one large, kinda like a crab. I really like asymmetry a lot, and will try to excercise that in this piece as much as possible.
Ok, we have nightvision on this one, I'll be creating a metal, tubular, dread-style hair too which should be neat. His lower leg will be large, he needed large knee pads and shin pads as digging with those monster claws would be tough on the ol' legs. He'll have similar shoes as the first sketch, but redesigned and probably a lot bigger.
Also a mutifunction backpack will be there too, but I'll get to that later. He'll have onboard water (like a camel pack for biking) water filtration, power for those huge arms, and probably some sort of computer for the nightvision etc. The parts will all be salvaged, but I'll give the dude the credit of being a master craftsmen and inventor as well as an ass-kicker, so that'll be evident in his gear, it'll look nicely constructed but highly customized so as to look appropriate.
Weapons- I decided that since survival relates to staying in a non-punctured protective skin, that this dude would have weapons used to take advantage of that fragilty of others. So we're looking at a monster shotgun, and some sort of shrapnel explosive, not sure what yet, at least some grenades and grenade launcher, as well as some sort of sniping device, and possibly a (I forget what they're called but....) sniper cover - with leaves and grass and stuff .... I will use 'shave and a haircut' for this as well as the dreads mentioned above. (Hopefully shavetracer will be out by then!!!)
He'll also carry some ready-mines or claymores, and some dynamite or nitro for those hard-to-dig caverns.
I'm a little bummed about the incomplete sketch too, but I must watch the Superbowl......GO RAMS!! besides I'll get to it soon ;)

The head is really good! don' t know why, but it reminds me a little bit the Predator... :)

LOL! good to see you here Incufer, I haven't had a chance to work on your logo yet, but I've been thinking about it... :)

Not too much new here, I put a few colors on just for the hell of it, also I added those lights, i'll be using more of those on his headgear and arm mechanisms, should look neat in the dark. So far I've been modeling directly off of my sketch, if you see anything weird let me know. Any suggestions would be schaaaweeet too.

Boy, I just thought I'd share this with everyone. Hand built and Hand surfaced models... very cool.... and a good source of inspiration for anyone building vehicles now, I might add!

I decide to mess with a surface I had in mind, It's sort of a reflective inlay like you'll see punched into wood, or on some high tech credit card or something, heh,heh.
the characters will be different, as would the surface of the chest or whatever, but what do you think about it??

those almost look egyptian like. I really like the head gear, I think the right colors will make that look real intense.

I had some time tonight, reworked the abdomen, created the base for the pelvic armor, as well as the thighs, I added the ridges to the cloth... thats it for now

I'm not on the PA list, man one weekend off and I got left out already, LOL,
Actually, I got back to my character and decided that he's a tad generic, so I'm gonna save him for another time, and probably do a redisign with some new ideas, and keep him for 'bad guy droid dudes' for an animation with the new character I'll make...

Well, I hit the drawin' board for a new idea, and ended up with a picture of Jimi Hendrix.... heh,heh, that's what I was listening to, well...... maybe next time ;)

Weell, I ended up with some sort of flying vehicle, I like how its going, but will I have time to model?? uhh, I dont know.
