Im fairly new to mental ray but not to max, Im rendering a scene of which I do not consider to be very complex and yet mental ray hangs on 'Transforming Vertices' for about 20mins and then finishes the rest of its calculations and renders in a few minutes.
My question is, are there any paticular things that mental ray doesnt like? ie scaled objects, uncollapsed meshes, big distances, instanced geometry . . .
