View Full Version : Mental Ray: Transforming Vertices

Im fairly new to mental ray but not to max, Im rendering a scene of which I do not consider to be very complex and yet mental ray hangs on 'Transforming Vertices' for about 20mins and then finishes the rest of its calculations and renders in a few minutes.

My question is, are there any paticular things that mental ray doesnt like? ie scaled objects, uncollapsed meshes, big distances, instanced geometry . . .

i have the same problem with max7 while using the normal renderer!
my problem appears to be particle related

we have experienced this before also. What we found was that it was a corrupted light. We deleted the light, made a new one and all was working correctly then. Just a thought.
