I would have to agree about the ears, they seem to be very out of scale and place.
Try some diffrent shapes and play around with them. They also look to me to be a bit low and too far back on the head.

Do you have any concept sketches that we can see? It would be cool to see where you are heading with this beasty. :D

As for the ears, I like the idea of making them small, but it mite be too much, and still i think they should be closer to the head even if its not realistic, any way the rest of the model looks great, the muscle and bone structure on the sholder looks very good, the chest could use a bit more work, but the way its connected to the arm is very good.

I think you should give more volume to the belly, it looks a bit flat right below the belly button.

small update.
finished UV mapping + some coloring for almost the entire upper body.

for now i'm quite happy with the result..
after finishing coloring the entire mesh, i'll start creating some hair,
and fur for the costume...
but that won't happen too soon,
I don't have much spare time for working on him.

The textures look very soft right now, would like to see more detail, hairs and stuff like that.
what about the scene it self, do you have an idea for it ? did you start working on any thing for it, could be a really nice character for a short animation or something like that, could you post a few more images or wires up, i'de like to see your workflow for building volumes
