Right, I'm going to give it a try this time. :)

Working on a concept now.

Best of luck to everyone! :xtreme:

It doesn't really show it yet, but it will be something like a double bladed (???) helicopter for one person, powered by peddling (like a bicycle).

The two heads on the left are just a few ideas for the pilot/mechanic, he'll be some sort of Goblin probably. :D

This is just to get the idea of how it's going to work. Oh well, still working on it... :wip: :wip:

The mechanic is brilliant!

Love that look, especially the crazed look in his eye!:surprised

This image basicly shows what the contraption will look like. It's mostly made out of wood and metal.

The bicycle thing is actually a home-trainer (Yes, weird fantasy goblins work out too :D ).

erilaz: Thanks. Hopefully I'll have the time to add him to the scene.

This image is practically the final design... I'm no good with technical design. :D Anyway, the whole idea just looks better in my head.

On to the modelling...:bounce: :wip:

Thank you both! :wavey:

HellRender:
It does sort of matter :argh: :D , don't worry though, it will all work in the end. :D

This image was just to give a general impression of what it's going to be like. :arteest:

If realism matters, the most constructions won't win, because they're surely not able to fly ;)

Great job, 1 question though

the blue chain ? is that a pully belt, or going to be a chain.

If it a pully belt your gear might damage it :)

Nah, they are just temporary. :)

The blue wire is going to be a chain, for the gears that is, the rest will be something like a rubber hose or something. :hmm:

I think there needs to be a certain amount of realism when it comes to the physics of things, you cant really say oh this guy just flies because he has super powers. This is why i dont like a lot of the designs, especially the ones with the prop blades on the wrong side of the wing, physically impossible to fly(dont look at my entry for too much kinematic realism ;)), and this one looks good enough to me.

Still working on it. :bounce: I'm just using simple objects to get an idea what the end result will look like. Most of the objects will be made more detailed later on. :wip: :wip:

Update time...

I'va added a few more details here and there... mostly in the wood and a few new objects, the rearview mirrors etc.

The pole in the middle just in front of the bycycle peddals, will feature a board with a few gadgets, like an altitude meter and a small portable communications radio... an I was thinking of adding a water bottle on that same pole somewhere... :D

Anyway, still lots of work to be done... :wip: :wip: :wip:

looks cool, i LOVE that character :D

i only see one problem: some parts are lacking a bit of detail, although they are all true to the concept

my point is, try to refine that a bit, get some references of industrial machines and bikes for example, otherwise the model might end up looking a bit simple in some parts

i hope you get my point and are not offended, i just want to help on you on your way to make an awesome concept into an awesome model =)

and i'm obsessed with good reference pics too, you need them !!!
(don't listen to me)

Of course I'm not offended. :)

I was planning on adding more detail here and there, especially in the gears and wheels and probably adding a few in the casing for the non-working accelerators.

All I'm basicly doing now is making objects and putting them in place to see what it would basicly look like in the end and to see if it could work.

Helpfull critics are always appreciated. ;)

Hehe your handmade looks like it was made by very skiled creator , even NASA wouldnt be shamed for such work ;) I don't know why but i liked it with blue belts more than black. What about to add some lamp or lighting source ? Cool idea about same things like on bike :bounce: keep up!

**Slaps forehead**

I hadn't thought of lamps strangely enough. Thanks for the tip. :D

Hmm... maybe I could make them work with a dynamo... :hmm:

And the belts that you see should only be temporary. That will be replaced with chains and rubber belts... I think.

Thought it was about time for an update. :wip: I haven't worked on it that much in the past few days, it's very hard too think in this heat here.:annoyed:

Anyway, I added the main rotorblades. the red parts need to be replaced or updated.

sorry about the render, it's a bit dark :hmm:
