View Full Version : Help With Combustion 2/Merging Avis

Please bare with me for my newbie question, Im just finishing off my Demo reel and was using combustion to put avis together...however I have no idea how to do this...can somebody give me a push in the right direction, Im going through the manuals now but can'ts seem to find what I'm after.

well I have to be careful here because I don't know what you're into and have no idea of you're knowledge, but....as far I can figure out from your post is that you're trying to
edit you're demo reel and from that I can only say that combustion would be not the way to go for that purpose. Combustion is a effects & compositing tool, and thus not meant for
editing or the like. Although it's possible to import all kinds of image files, sequences and movie files (I'm not sure you can import avi just like that; if so, that may be the heart of your problem), it's not possible (or not convenient at the least) to actually
edit, well, stuff. You'd be much better of with AVID, Adobe's Premiere, or Final Cut Pro.

Even tho C* isn't the right tool to edit things it can do the work, the only problem is that you won't have a decent feedback (realtime playback) on what you're doing, something that you have with dedicated editing apps.
But since what you want to do seems simple you can use the Edit operator in C* for that, take a look in the help files of C* (F1), the only problem that you have to be aware is that Combustion only supports one audio source per workspce.
