Very inspiring. I like the camera angle, the colors and the theme as a whole. Looks almost like a sci-fi illustration! Is there a story behind it?

nice image!
What about the star in the background... is it a 3D model as well or just an image?

Wicked. Give us a hi-res?
Your other work at deviant is really sweet too. I really like these abstractions, and "Light & Storm" is my new wallpaper.
One really needs to see the whole collection/series to appreciate what you're doin'.
and I do.
love,hen

Great image with great colour and design in the city. I think people could look at this and read lots of different stories into the picture and that is another great plus too. When I look at it I see an ancient desolate city on a dead world succumbing to the ravages of a star that is becoming a red giant.

Excellent picture, top work.

Nice, loving the atmosphere.

For some reason it reminds me of the junk-planet's spaceship from the old Transformers movie :P

Great work. This is just my guess but it looks like some kind of giant "harvester".....consuming the stars energy. But for who or what

Your image is quite beautiful. Nice composition and lighting. I love the mix of nearly-literal image with the slightly abstract - very much like a Jon Berkey spaceship painting. I like the ambiguousness of it.

I'm not sure why everyone wants you to "explain" what's going on in the image. Sad how people always want stuff explained to them instead of just enjoying what it is in their own minds.

The more beautiful the image, the more reason to know how to learn it yourself.

You misunderstand. I'm all for explaining HOW an image was created, which techniques were used. My impression was that people wanted to know the story behind the image, such as "These are rocketships leaving a dying planet, blah blah blah", not how the image was created.

I personally would like to see more about how the image was created - wireframes and such. I just don't care what the event is being depicted in the image. Sorry for any mis-communication.

I can't post without commenting on the submission, of course:

Great composition and detail. I too would love to know if the star was composited in Photoshop or if it's true 3d - it does kinda matter in a 3d forum :)

There are two ways to look at it when people try to analyze a work of art, IMHO:

1. People are moved by what they see and attempt to create a story around a snapshot in time, something they can relate to. When that happens, you know you've created a work of art that does succeeds in moving people to think ... to feel.

2. The other side of the argument: I always hated it when an art teacher told me to critique a great work of art from an artist such as Renoir or Picasso ... like, what's the friggin point? I personally think it does a disservice to the artist. I don't know what they meant by writing or painting ... and don't really care to know.

:hmm: Enjoy the works for what they are, analyzing has no benefit - then again, it doesn't hurt either.

This image represents a deteriorated space station in a very distant galaxy. That's the refuge of a expecie of strange beings. The station has been invaded in many occasions by other superior species, bbut those that live there are the ruthless soldiers... that's the idea.

sorry my english!

Very imaginative, lot of detail work. Really inspiring, amigo !!! I can stare at it and think of some background story by myself, thatīs what true art really means, make people think and go beyond what they are actually looking.
