kind of minimalist, but overall I like it. If I had any comment, a bit of a dividing line where the dark grey sky meets the dark grey land would... Oh wait! You've forgotten to attach an image... ;)
hey, looks good.. two things:
1) make it lighter! i like the feel, but it's hard to see..
2) the water looks a little funky.. chunky.. and the spiky things in the back (more water??), kinda grayish.. what are they? AKA change them..

too many default MAX textures!!! =)
also work on keeping your materials from streaching, most of them seems fake be cause of poor mapping
add detail to your models. all the polls for the raised houses are perfect solid colored cylanders? the stair case a the bottom left kinds floats.. make it meet the rock ground with some chracter... think about hwo it would actually have to be contrsucted to work

Far superior than what I can do for now...
I too don't under stand the "spiky" water near the waterfall
It also appears that there is a seem at the bottom to the center of the final render.:scream:
