View Full Version : Capturing other elements (rendering question)

What is the best way to render out other elements in layout.

I'll explain.

I have a camera looking straight down at a pool of water. The camera view (once rendered out) shows rain drops falling on the pond. I would like to pan/rotate the camera up 90 degrees, so as to look off in the distance. BUT, I would also like to capture the wireframe "plane of exsistence, particle generator, particles, etc.

The concept here is to show water falling on a surfece (pond) in a realistic way, then rotate the camera to show it is in fact, not real, by displaying the elements that actually create the effects.

Now, my problem is, I am using the wide screen setting on the camera, so I don't think a simple screen capture device would work.

Any ideas?

Thanks

render off a second pass in the wireframe mode or save the openGL preview, then in post do a fade from one to the other.

I am not sure how to render out the openGL preview, cant find the setting, nor does the manual say anything (I have 7.5c)

The elements I am trying to capture do not show up in wireframe mode.

See the image I attached, How can I render out that animation, just like you see it there. No effects/hypervoxels/textures, just what is shown in the picture.

Is this at all possible?

You can set Lightwave to single view (Preferences, Display Options). Select to "see" from the camera. Make a preview of the whole scene and then save the preview as an avi, qt or whatever. Import the avi, qt or whatever, into your favourite videoediting software and have some fun. Depending on the resolution you want, maybe you need to change your screen resolution when doing the preview to match the rendered images resolution.

Good luck!
