View Full Version : somthing like watermark plugin
jabbermike 08-24-2004, 08:24 AM hi,
im looking for a plugin like the watermark plugin so I can have a 24bit image always facing the camera in one of the corners of all renderings. I need it for some quicktimeVR renderings.
I know it can be done with a object parented to the cam (but what to do while zooming?) and it also can be made with a alpha and the textured background plugin or what it's called. still this only works if the logo has already the right size, because if you change the size in the texture panel it sizes the picture to the left upper corner of the image not the the center. so you have to testrender and adjust until you find the right position. too much hassle for such a simple task. and doing this in the post, well then it still has to be rendered a second time.
does anybody know about a plugin like that?
or maby somthin I didnīt think of?

you can do that directly in LW.
under the processing tab add the image filter "WaterMark".
save your text or logo as an image and load it into the plugin.
the size of the watermark will be the size of the image (i mean the text, not the render) :)

I already know about that plugin, hence the title :) bit this is not quit what I want.
I would like to display a 24bit image with alpha and a some opacity. like the logos of the tv station that you can see on screen.

What about the features in the compositing tab? There you can use a foreground image and an alpha image. If you want to control the overall opacity of the image, simply adjust the contrast or brightness of the alpha in the image editor of LightWave or in your favority paint program...:)
Good Luck!!

hi,
I donīt want to sound ungreatful, but I allready tried all kind of solutions in LW. All these need some kind of preparation oder adjustments, some need more some need less.
Looks like there isnīt a plugin out there. nice would be something like this:
open plugin
choose image(s)
choose alpha(s)
choose opacity
(save preset)
hit ok

mikeWow... sounds like you didnt try hard enough.
Try, SCENE Tab, Composite Tab, Select Foreground Image, Select Foreground Alpha, Enable Foreground Fader Alpha (opacity), Set percentage...
Does everything you want a plugin to do...

You can choose the position and size of your logo in PS, PSP, UPI or another software like these. :)

:) I know about that too.
the thread is getting a bit too long, for the obvious answer that there is no "do it all in one" plugin for that kind of task.
still, thank you guys!
maybe I should say the the best result i get is maping the image on a plane and parenting it to the camera (don't zoom). alpha to the transparency channel and not to the clipmap. AA to enhanced medium.

You can do a Zoom, just tie the plane size to the Zoom Factor with Channel Follower or Set Driven Key in Graph Editor.
