View Full Version : HOW to download REDPIXEL's tuts?
saiko 08-23-2004, 09:53 PM hi
redpixel.com has so meny really good tutorials..perhaps the best free collection on net ( keeping in mind 3dpalace.com or 3dbuzz ! )... but it directly plays in the madia player,
as these tuts are not in english, one time viewing is is not enough to grasp the tut ....
sometime it takes very long to open (because i have a slow connection) sometimes it doesn't even open! and sometimes i need to shutdown my comp halfway through..so all effort is gone!!
is there any way to save the video file or is it possible to use download accelarator?
someone please help..
(there might be a download button also but I can't find it as i dont know Portuguese! :) )

Try to find from your browsers preferences not to open the known file types but save them to disc. I have FireFox browser and I got it to work with this way... baby. :)

With IE it seems to force it to open windows media player and not allow any downloadmanager/whatever in between, but WMP does allow you to save the file to your harddrive though, so once it's loaded you can save it to prevent having to redownload it.
Offtopic: quite wierd to go to a site in a language that you don't even speak to find a picture you rendered on the front page there :)

It opens an .asp file before the windows media player. Try download that asp file and open it in text editor or somewhere else, there you can find the link to wmv file..
Editaple Poly - 04 Edit Edges tutorial is this one...
http://67.15.28.3/~redpixel/media/vt/redpixel-v019.wmv
(right click and save as...)

this way doesnt work because there is (i think) an antileech script on redpixel. At me there comes an *.ASP file which iam able to save but not the wmv file. But i can save out off WMP.

hmbf... what is WMP?
This is working for me, but I think you need eather make a .html file where to put the WMV file and do Save link ass... or you can use some downloading software like GetRight or something.
This is going' a bit too hard. :)

Can I help you? :) Yes you can. :)
Saiko:
The downloading happened by accident. I have Safari browser on my machintosh and it downloaded the .asp file by default. I think it didn't regognize something.. but I don't think it's working with internet explorer.
Maby PiledotNet could help us since we don't quite understand the language on the site. :) (well I don't)

thanks micco,
I downloaded the asp file by configuring download-accelarator for downloading .asp file for that moment. But when i opened that up using notepad i could not find anything having .wmv extention!
Still cant find out a way out:sad: !
I think the best would be if someone from redpixel only helps us out.....
(i hope they have seen this thread! or someone can inform them:) )
PiledotNet: yes, please help us if u can! (why are u asking for that?!!!)

Hi guys, sorry but I have to say that you can not download those videos like that. They are free for streaming and can't be distributed in other ways.
Please do not violate the rules.
If you already have those videos and know how to download them, please, keep this information with you.
Best regards,
saiko

Thanks PiledotNet,
for clarifying it out.....
so there is no way people having slower connection to have the luxury to learn from those tuts at your site.
half the time the videos do not even open in my comp...it shows some error.. even if it opens (after several tries and if i'm very lucky!!) because of the language its diffcult to grasp the whole thing at one go...atleast for me!
and i dont think anybody is going to redistribute it for any reason!!
best regards...
saiko
PS: i didn't get ur joke from ur first post as i didn't see ur Avtaar :banghead: !!
(i read that in the email !)
