ok, i generaly have problems when poly modeling something industrial. I still havent made my car model (lol, a nuissance for every 3d artist :scream:)

this is a concrete example
while modeling the handle for these three metal thingies

i thought of two possible solutions

i know that people keep saying, quads quads and only quads, but... i dont find them always suitable, i mean, dont tempt me, i can make some pretty weird and bad wires, and still keep them all quad.

so, in this picture, both handles have quads only, the first one is better, i thought that more lines would mean more definet shape but it didnt turn out the way i thought it will.
Also, is there some 3rd possible way, to somehow keep these lines straight?

i would simply bevel out and edge right before the edges you want straight.
this looks like max work, it also looks like subD mesh,
depending on what max uses to calculate its subdivision surfaces you will get a curvature where more these kind of polys meet at such angle.
