Hello All,

I have a problem importing all my still Targa pictures into Adobe Premiere 6.0, which were originally rendered in Maya 5.01 using the Software Renderer.

I tried importing a few of these Targa still renders into Adobe Premiere 6.0. What I did is I opened Premiere, then I went to File=>Import=>File. I selected the first rendered frame (30), chose "All Formats" as the file of type & checked "Numbered Stills". My understanding is that Premiere should then automatically import all the other rendered stills together with frame 30, but I could only import 1 rendered frame @ a time. Since I have to import a total of 4400 frames, is there a faster way to import them into Premiere? Or else it'll be extremely tedious. I rendered the stills successfuly in Maya because I could play the animation from frame 30 - frame 4400 using Fcheck.

OK, hope some1 can help me with this import problem. Thanks again in advance.

What is the naming of the files?

You have to have

(FileName)1234.tga
(FileName)1235.tga

If it is named any differently from that premiere won't know what to do.

OK, here is the exact name of the still pictures that are saved in my Images folder under Maya's Default folder : Test Type A_5.0.tga.0000030 right until the last frame, which is :

Test Type A_5.0.tga.0004400

I'll try to import again into Premiere. But if it still doesn't should I rename all my pictures to the way u reconmended? There are a lot of still pictures (from frame 30-frame 4400). Do I have to manually rename ALL of them 1 by 1 in Window's Explorer? Or can I open these series of stills (as animation) in Fcheck & use Fcheck to save the animation with your reconmended filename? Much thanks to you in advance.

There is a plugin that renames files in Maya, at least I think its a plugin....mm can't remember, try highend3d to see if they have it.

You named the frames with the number at the end of the name as opposed to the file extension. I would run the animation through fcheck and rename the files "Filename.0000.tga.
