It's Maya with default renderer. And a little bit of photoshop.

Your pictures are fantastic!
What kind of school is this?
I would be interested in the light setup, if you want to share it.
Nice setup, nice light, nice textures, nice idea...

These are great! I like the first one best, the lighting is very good...
Thanks guys :)
the school i'm in is a french CG school...
About the lighting... there are a lot of lights, one directionnal for the main lighting, some point lights... and I made all the textures by myself ;)

wow great work of lightning and texturing
Most of people here just show modeling technic using vray for light (i think it's too easy)
this scene is complete, modeling, texturing, and lightning.
I really like it
this should be an exemple for everybody...

The lighting is superb.I must ask however, is the floor flat or is there actual geometry there?
yeah... the floor is flat. I didn't have the time to model it. I did all the textures in 7 nights and 3 different lightings over one night...
This scene is the first one I ever did.
I m just a beginner :(

:hmm:
Too easy? And what is the reason to make your work harder? What is the reason to spend thousands of hours to create something what can be created in five minutes? Such tools give you freedom in creation, so you can concentrate on that's realy important.
About the work: this work is REALLY very nice, but you should render it from another view, so that all objects fit in the frame. The toy car in the first image should fit entirely, and the soldier too in the second. You composition is too haotic.
And finally, don't subscribe with such a large font. A good artist subscribe his work in the bottom with a slightly visible inscription. You signature shouldn't be a part of your image. ;)

Les textures sont splendides !
C'est superbe.
You're making very good points Anton.
I think you are completely right, and i am aware of these "composition" problems.
The thing is, I made all the rendering stuff and "compositions" at the last minute (remember, school work....), it was probably 5 in the morning when i hit "render" and i had to be at school at 9.30!
I was very frustrated afterwards, because i'm pretty much satisfied of the work done except for the problems you pointed.
I was too much into my work and didn t get to see the flaws.
Now that it'sq done, i don't wanna render it once more :/
oh, and about the signature, i'm not a good artist yet so i tried to cover up my pic with the fonts ;) just kidding :)
will remember it next time.

As said, very nice work.
I am curious about the wings on the plane. They have a strange transparency that doesn't make sense to me. I can't imagine what material would have that property. Perhaps a translucency would work, but not transparency.
Totally loved all else about it. Even the chaotic composition works for me. After all, they were "placed" there by a child, no?

You're good enought, Tly, to make your work much better, as it does not require big efforts!
Jeremy, I was talking about a chaotic composition, not about a chaotic scene. You're right, this scene probably should be chaotic, as the toys were scattered by a child. And you're perfectly right about traslucence, though it is not very visible.

Nice texturing:bounce:
the wings are made with some kind of very thin "tissu" and have some sort of pattern (in french "maillage")
didn t know how do reproduce that, and i was in a rush, so i just put some transparency.
guess it would be better with translucency !
thanks you all for the advices!
i am on vacation tomorrow, yeahhh
