Nice mood, has a suspense style, like an Agatha Christy book cover :)
The face is beautiful. Maybe due to the to the light angle, the girl on the left of the picture has a more pronounced bump-map, which could be lessened.
WOW! Beautiful! Nice model and render, indeed! Perhaps the picture would benefit of slightly different expressions, but besides that, great pic!
How did you make the hair?

I like more the right one, maybe because she is looking at me;-)

don't know if it counts as a big trick, but the two halves are from the same render of the face I guess, only cut in half and the left played slightly higher and in a layer behind the right half. nice model.

excellent! I think the face on the left looks better for some reason though...
Very nice texturing and it has a nice natural look.
Good original composition too.
If i have to say something constructive, its that i think the hair hanging over the right girls shoulder looks kinda like a see through veil - especially the shadow of it.
Any more pics? Close ups? diff angles? I wanna see more.
Some ace stuff on your site by the way!

Thanks!
BinarySoup- Yes! that's it, hehe... if you crop the black borders and offset the image you get something like the image below. So I kinda got two characters for the price of one.:)

- Fantastic work.
- The faces look a little too symetrical.
- Very nice model.
- The look in their eyes is a little lifeless though.

very expressive modeling and great texturing
very good job on the eyes especially !!
don't like the final image much though, I think it the image lacks some orignality and composition... but that's just my personnal feeling, too bad you didn't go *a bit* further with that model !! :scream:

Good modelling and texturing. I like the lightning, it somehow reminds me of a movie poster. Maby that's because she has "the hollywood face" :D I agree about the subject being a bit stereotypical, not that I have any problem with that! It is a very well executed image. Congrats!

Oh no not the stars:D The thing about stars is they always start high and go down, heh.
Anyway thanks a lot for the nice comments! About the stereotypical look of the image I can see what you mean and I agree, because the image reminds me of many movieposters or maybe book-covers I've seen. I see it as kind of a tribute to those kinds of images though.
danielkenobi- I used a lot of different reference and tried to pick the best parts from various women I've either met, known or just from images on the net.

Ouch, maybe I shouldn't have said that about the stars, because they instantly went from 4.0 to 3.57:D . Would that person like to step forward and share his/her thoughts on the matter? I'd be really interested to hear them.

superlayer- Thanks a lot, that was my main concern when making this girl(s). I wanted her to look a bit distant, like she is thinking about something or maybe realising something.
shserge- thanks:)

fantasitic modeling and lighting. yap, i agree with edharass. But arn't all the CG face are symetrical? Maybe try to put some work on the texture see if it breaks the symetrical.

very realistic face!
but somehow I prefer the right face half in the split-in-half version (the one you first posted) than the complete picture.
congrats.

Over all, I really enjoy this piece.
About the only detail (a minor one, too) I would note is the lack of luster or light reflected by the hair - it casts shadows onto her right shoulder, but none of the light is reflected by the hair strands.

Looks great!! I knew they were part of the same face!!! Make the eyes (stare) more realistic...she looks like she's staring into space....other than that...fabulous work this!!
