I lost the poly proxy to THIS HEAD I'M MAKING (http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=16368). I was using CPS. Is there any way, using any kind of plugin, to either retrieve the proxy or generate a new one from the current head? I'm happy with the way it looks for the purpose i'm using it for, but it would be much more comforting if I could get it back.

cant you click on, "subdiv surfaces" then poly proxy mode?

But that would just make the current, rather high resolution mesh, the proxy, wouldn't it?

Sorry wgeddes, but atleast I haven't ever heard of "untesselation" or anything, sorry
(But could be possible, as smoothing uses some specific algorythm(spelling ), so you could propably somehow turn the effect of the algorythm... Heh, maybe that sounds stupid, but could work? :))

someone (a company, not one person i mean) should write a plug-in or soemthing that reproduces the same mesh using a poly cage with as few points as possible... i'm sure that would be hard, but it doesn't seem impossible.
