Hi All,

Um, I'm hanging my head in shame a bit here, and also gnashing at my teeth as I'm trying to get something done that should be bloody simple.

I'm moving over from 3DS Max to Maya - so I think to myself, I know - I'll model something that's close to hand to get a little practise in - so I'm modelling a playstation2 controller.

I'm trying to put the little D-pad cross bit on, using a curve. It looks like a plus sign with little curved joins. So it goes straight, curve, straight, curve... all the way round; I've attached an image which shows what I'm going for.

Please, somebody help me. I want to crack on, but I don't want to move on past this until I suss it, otherwise it'll haunt me for the rest of my days.

Right - better get some kip and hope that a knight in shiny armour can help me out.

Double click the icon of a curve tool to get the options window and choose linier degree. Draw a cross shape with snap to grid. Next go to Edit Curves>Curve Fillet □. In the Options window from Edit menu choose As Tool and check Trim and Join, and click Fillet Tool button to close the window. Click the curve near a corner which you want to round and click again on the other side of the same corner. Repeat for the other corners. If you do all this with the history turned on, in the channel box you will find nodes for each fillet. Click on each to show fillet controls that you can change.
