I have been trying to bring in some bvh mocap files to character studio today and nothing I do seems to get rid of the sliding feet problem. In convert to footsteps all of the invariably end up as sliders and there does not seem to be anything I can do about it.

I am using cs3 though I think the mocap data is a bit old, probably cs22 vintage. Could this be the problem.

If anyone could point me in the direction of a workable solution to this issue it would be a great help. Thanks.

I recall reading somewhere that BVH is prone to the sliding feet problem due to the way it describes the motion, but I don't remember exactly what the technical problem was. If converting to footstep doesn't do the trick, you may need to do it manually (yikes!).
