View Full Version : Selective FG disabling?

Heya everyone,
Is there away to disable final gathering on a per object basis? Basically im rendering a scene of a car with FG and am using a white plane above the car for reflections. I'd like to render it in a single pass and cannot figure out away to keep the plane visible in reflections and not cast FG rays. Ive tried doing overides on the FG rays, and turning the shaders irradiance to black.

Im out of ideas, If someone could throw me some info it would be much appriciated. Thanks!

Does the per-object FG settings help?
In the mesh/nurbs AE -> mental ray -> Override FG Settings.
But probably you'll need to use rayType shader to achieve this.

Maybe the RayType shader could help you. It lets you override the colours and shaders for each ray type including for FG rays.

Do a search for RayType in this forum and you should find it.

I'll give the raytype shader a try, thanks guys. Its too bad there isnt any options for disabling it on a per object basis.
