hi folks. I want to show this :D, i did it last night as a break of monotony of hi-res models i usually do. The information about him is in the lower of the image.

I have bumped the texture :), the quick concept + some differents points of view of the monster.
I hope you like it.

C&C are welcome

Excellent work! Great design (really original) and fantastic textures! Impossible to believe all that was done in 4 hours!!!
Do you have the rest of the model built or designed? Id love to see it. Its one of the best creature designs ive seen anywhere recently.

Top notch work there son. You got any other stuff to show?

Oh yeah, as per usual, gimme some wireframes.

I noticed you have some more work on the frontpage of your 'website' - it seems to be some forum that you need membership for!

Any chance you can post them on here to save us registering?

sybille, you seem pretty friendly. Maybe you should take that friendly attitude somewhere else?

Cool looking monster, I'd love to see the rest of him. Really spot-on texture work.

I would love to see what the body would look like, nice job!

Very nice texturing. Looks kinda like some creatures from doom. Is that 2000 polys for just the head? Because if you do model the rest of him in the same manner, I wouldn't really call that low poly, but it is still very cool. And awesome for the time spent on it.

Excellent work...... Please finish this guy off, the way you are going it'll probably only take you a couple more hours to get it modelled, rigged, animated and rendered ;)

I'm confused... are you the same person that did this?
Is this the same character but with more polys?
Are these even related? The similarities are uncanny.

Thanks for all the comments guys :)

Andy H: My wesite was disabled for a while, server problems, so i decided to put as link my "wip forum" (it only have 500 mb of bandwidth, reason of the register message). I'm still having the same problems with the host, i can't upload and update anything. The host seems to be almost dead. I'm now looking for a cheap host solution.
You can go and have a look now, the content is old, almost a year without update.

Tree of Woe: 2076 exactly, so 2080 for the head with the inside of the mouth done also. The purpose of this model is to fit the amout of detail of new game characters, up to 8000 triangles per unit in shooters, and also as a break of monotony :D. Making low poly is more funny as hi poly for me, the results are faster of seing.

Frink: hehe, you have reason, but the big problem is to make a design that really fits with his face. Make designs is far difficult and slow than modelling and texturing for me. For a whole character i can design around 30 sketches and then choose, combine or perfect one.
It has a body designed but now i'm making another character that i must to finish in 2 days maximum.

Neil: yeah, that's one of my monsters, too old now. his design have evolved a lot now:). The similarities are in the depressed eye cavities and tooth, maybe. i use to give that kind of eye cavities to the majority of my monsters. As too many people custom to say: blaizer's style XD. So you can consider them as family hehe.

Default_human: i have not the chance to play farcry. It must be a nice normal mapped game, all the people talks about it :).

As request here is the wireframe of the model:

And one more render with his mouth with blood, as the concept shows :)

Great design! I love the texture work, it would fit good as an unreal monster.
I would love too see him in a high poly kick ass armor.

Something about the painted concept seems really strange to me, did you start with a render of the model? The details are so close to the textured model, somehow it looks almost like a touched-up render rather than a concept painted from scratch.

Other than that oddity, it looks nice. Good work.

i think that it is safer to asume that he used his painting as refrrence or a base to start the textures on the model.

in any case that is a very good design but it seems all too familiar.

it reminded me a lot of the camel monster from secoinreality.ch

http://secondreality.ch/gallery/2d/camelmonster.jpg

in any case its a well done piece i love the texture work the reflective skin was done very nicely altho it cud have been simulated better with specualr and reflective maps.

cud u post a low res version of ur texture ?
with a watermark if u wish.

sybille (http://www.cgtalk.com/member.php?u=83072) vbmenu_register("postmenu_1519614", true); -i assume you were talking about/to yourself

that is real good stuff
could you perhaps elaborate on texturing workflow cause you got it pinned

something like converting normal maps to diffuse maps and painting on them
