Quite realistic.. only strange thing is the colour of the extraterrestial fellow... doesn't really fit in.
Very nicely done, otherwise.

Not bad at all. I've done green screen and it's very hard to do on a small budget.
I did notice a ghost image of the metal box that the actor was standing on in front of the greenscreen showing up in the final composite.
Why is the costume green in the final shot and red in the green screen shot?
Was that do to a technical problem, or a later decision?
Overall It worked pretty well.

I like your post and 3D work a lot - shows a lot of skills. but as the others I am irritated by the bright green of the "alien". did you chose this to show that he is an martian?
give him a decent color that fits to the backround and it will create a complete artwork and not look like a "funny" childrens tv shot.

He is intendet to be this colour. It was not targetted to merge him exactly with the lighting. Actually, originally he blended well with the rest, so the colours were pumped-up. :)
webhead: the box ghosting is ok, it didn't bother me much as it looks a bit like a part of the ship. as for red/green: as I wrote above, I first merged the character so he fit well into the scene, but then, as this is not a composite for the movie, but a website, and he serves as a kind of icon, he must be more visible.
keylight plugin worked perfectly for keying, and even though the green screen wasn't perfect, the result was very good and detailed - a perfect addition to AE
the whole project is a multimedia website, we made several shots in one evening and now I am putting it all together to test how it will work. we came up with the idea of alien shouting "Contact, contact" so when you click him, you go into the "Contact/Address" page. We did not have any "alien-suit" at hand, so we just decided we will use orange pantns and colour him green (you know, aliens are green in most cases).

Nice, but the render's too clean. You should dirt up the ship a bit with some scratches and stuff.
