View Full Version : How do you make an explosion.

Ok I have my character doing a grappling technique, I want to make it so when he grabs the object/monster/person, I want that object/monster/person to explode. Is there a way to do this, I know it has somethin gto do with "effects" but I cant seem to remember, can someone help me, thanks in advance.

that looks like a good tutorial, ic4... but the first step involves Create Shatter. I haven't gotten this dynamic to work in over a YEAR, and never with anything more complex than a sphere... does anyone else have probems with Create Shatter, or know how to ensure that it will work?

wgeddes, I also had problems with shatter, but it always works after deleting my history

Maybe tell us more about the problem wgeddes? I just did a small shatter try-out a couple days ago, using a simple (But highpoly... damn it took ages to calculate the shatters) vase, and worked beautifully.

holy craping out a stick, lol I dont know MEL scripting at all, though I will try applying an emitter to my object, but how to I change the "legnth of time" for my object, because when I animate my character grappling on to the object, the explosion happens at teh same time, basically it looks like he is grappling on to an explosion, why is that?

sorry if that is to long, but this is pissing me off roflmao.
