View Full Version : Character_Female Soldier
TimTheEnchanter 08-19-2004, 06:17 AM Hey ...ive been working on this soldier/sniper chick ....trying to make her look a little futuristic. She is currently 4460 tris with her guns on her body ...the pistols are around 250 tris each...she is on 1 1024x1024 map. i was making her for like and action/adventure or 3rd person shooter. Looking for any critiques or ideas to make her better ...thanks much

Looks good, but its hard to see whats going on cos of your dark renders. Stick a lighter background and some ambient light in the scene. From what i can see it looks well modelled, but the lack of hard edges / smoothing groups really let it down. Get em sorted!

the model is looking alrite so far .
but the texturing lacks detail . im asuming shes wearing a metal armor..which needs to have plates and scratches..discoloration..weathering etc etc.
the camo uniform also need to have a cloth texture and is not just made up off a pattern.

I'm liking it. Its different from the normal gaming chic that has T&A hanging out all over. And its different from the super battle armor getup like in unreal and quake. She is still looking good with out it being in your face. Lets see a wireframe. Keep up the good work. Lets see that sniper rifle textured up.

it might be a bit creative but it sure does lack appeal.
the textures seem to boring and bland ..i dont see any highlights just some shades.
i hope the final is better textured.
dont give up hope

Hey quick crit for you,
The front plane of the face is too far forward, basicly the distance between the ear to the cheek looks long, bring the whole front plane of the face back.
The sternum is a little sunken(center, her breast armor)
The legs are spaced too far apart, and look kinda odd. Work the front view and make them have more a curved shape.
Suggestions:
Bring out more of the mech/wire details in her armor.
Consider using an opacity map for the hair strands.
The details on the beltpacks and gun look good. Overal it looks cool so far, finish it!

Good stuff. I like the hair on her. Maybe tone down the blue on the armor a bit and make her armor a bit more damaged or worn.
