Anyone know where I can find tutorials on MaxScript?

If they are included with the 3D Studio Max/Character Studio plug-in package please tell me for I have the legal version with all the books. I could not find one in the Tutorial Book. Thanks.

Theres not a hell of a lot that comes with Max, Mike. The best starting point in my opinion is the Discreet webforum, there are a few legendary scripters who help out there daily.

some good places to start you off:

Check out 'Learning MAXScript' in the 'FAQ's' conference

See also,

Supplement to MAXScript Help for R4.20" 'FAQ's' conf.

Thanks for the links. Checking them out now. I wish in future versions they would provide tutorials in the 3ds max tutorial booklet. In an earlier version of Max they covered MaxScript tutorials, but took them out in version 4.2 for some weird reason... ah well, thanks.

Hmm, there were never MXS Tutorials in the books. There was an introduction chapter in max 3 at the end of the tutorials book though.

I hope you will be happy to hear that max 5 comes with 23 tutorials in the MAXScript Online Help covering everyday's stuff like object creation, data output and input, dynamic rollouts creation, spline creation and manipulation, scripted material plug-ins, callbacks etc. Most of the examples are real-life examples based on user questions and experts' answers and contain Native Language (Pseudocode) and MAXscript source plus detailed explanations of each code line with links to the used functions and methods.

I really hope you will find them useful.
