thanks m8
i tried mapping the flash and displacing it but in the end i modelled it even the grooves on the outer glass, i think this looks better than before.

thanks guys
the metal around the lens is poly modelled and more to the point its a metal texture/shader with a spectral effect to give it the cd effect
with the text just dumped on top
Flawless Dave strikes again :) Its truly inspiring this piece, clean and perfect, every aspect of it! Cheers!

spot on as usuall m8. a couple of minor points i could point out, but i wont. i just be picking holes for the sake of it
(just cos i got exactly the same camera here infront of me. now who was the damn foo that reckomended it to me? ;) )

show them ur desk montage m8, that rocks :)
Good modeling and render, but one thing wrong for me, the metal texture it,s too plastic, give more reflexion to get better result.
Congrats, good work.

thanks guys for the nice replies
the metal is matt really not reflective, it has a small amount of noise on it.
but there is something about the metal. it changes looks every time i change the lights
but overall im happy with this look and feel, i can live with it.
strat the montage is on my site ; www.max3d.org
thanks again guys

damn fine model and render that is DD, top work.
my only suggestion would be to brighten the subject a little more, its a tad dark. otherwise excellent.

im looking at my camera now. the metal seems spot on. it does have a slight metallic sprey kinda feel to it, like half way between metal plastic, or even spreyed plastic

Nice!.. it's good to see some product visualization here for a change. Couple of tiny things..
The flash is a bit overly bright and obvious, could be a bit less white and show more variation in the reflection. Also the cyan cast on the top (prob. from the HDRI reflection) could be desaturated a bit. Really love the finger grip:thumbsup:, perfect.
As for the camera... well I had the old P1 and just threw it in the bin and bought a canon EOS D instead... and a nikon coolpix for snaps and textures. Much happier now.:D
