Gorgeous image! A few things that bothered me were the difference in light between the sky and the light coming through the trees - kind of feel like it's a bit too warm/yellow. And the level of detail in the figure doesn't quite match the beautiful environment. But great nonetheless

This has some really exquisite detail.
I like the scene alot.

The only things that bothers me for the moment are the shadows on the roof from the trees. The shadows seem a little precise to me. I would imagine in reality the shadows would be very vague and probably a little larger in size.

And this is only a niggly thing on a picture as a whole that remains really impressive.

Very good work.

You might want to put a rim light, or cast some reflected light up from the water to light the floating sphere. It would benefit by separating it a little from the background.

I like everything but the volumetrics coming through the trees. This REALLY detracts from the image in my opinion as volumetrics have kinda become like lens flares. That aside the angle of the light coming through the trees doesn't match the time of day that is portrayed by your sky. Your sky and shadows portrays mid afternoonish, but your volumetric shows evening.

I'd lose the light or fix the incosistency as for me it was kind of jarring and really detracted from an otherwise amazing image.

I do agree that you should turn down the volumetrics a little though

Your sky and shadows portrays mid afternoonish, but your volumetric shows evening. absolutely true.. also you should try to get some 'focus'.. dimming some elements or dof some other or apply some sort of z depth.. great image, modelling and texturing.. just some minors problems with what is the 'photograph' of the scene.

1st. Great Detail, excellent modeling.

My only comments are:

I think the girl needs a little more detail, in the face, and a little more drapping for her sleeves.

The sunlight through the trees on the left, the color of the light seems too yellow. Also the mist level seems to be quite high. Yet behind the boat on the right side, the mist level is very low. Maybe balance these 2 areas out.

Also on the right, behind the boat, shouldn't the canopy of trees be making darker shadows there? And in the trees above the boat maybe a little more shadow in the leaves.

=======

These are minor things, but they caught my eye.

Again, excellent work.

Great Composition - I like the house alot and the bridge is my favourite!!

One thing I would like to point out - is that the sky in the background does not match the mood of the composition - reason being that the light from the left speaks of a sunset - orange lighting - now if say that side of the house had a saw dust mill, that gives of the brown particles that would cause the streaking brown light - then that would be logical

If you study light in the real world - you never see streaks of light like that unless there is dust, haze or vapour in the air.

And the color of the streaks (or volumetric light) comes from what color the light source is or what color the particles in the air are.

The dust is ruled out here because the place is so fresh with greenery.

my suggestion would be to add a sky that is the same value as the volumetric light - streaks going through the trees.

That said, Good Job!!!

Garma changed avitars while I was gone. humm..

This is great. Very neet style on it all. Of corse when it all starts looking this good. The little things start standing out. The main thing I noticed the girl looks off somehow. But I can't quiet put my finger on it. Near as I can figur it out is how she is sitting on the rocks makes her look like she has no body waight. Her pose is ok, just that I think she would be pressing on the rocks more. Looks like you have her paced there buy where the skin wouldn't patrude through the top of the rock. But that you didn't take in to account that her but, thighs, and hand would flatten out a little under the waight of her.

Lovely work, well done!

Apart from the other comments about the volumetrics, which I agree with (tone them down) the main criqitue would be the lack of focus, it all feels quite flat. Darken the area in background under the trees behind the boat and on the left where the volumetrics are, and maybe some DOF even subtly, to bring the viewer's eye to the front of the image. Need to decide what you want people to look at - is it the girl or the house? Then do some things to draw the eye to that - drop a tree shadow over the house more maybe to bring out the girl and her Robot. It's a bit bland colour wise, you could use some colour to help the composition, bring out the robot, who is really lost (i only just noticed it!), with colour maybe.

But very cool, love it.

( but in a million and one!....you better watch your back :) ) k.. the only thing i dont like about it (please dont kill me for nit picking) the girl sitting on the egde... her legs are stiff...reminds me of a barbie dolls legs that dont bend at the knee. dont know if any one else thinks that... besides that it just kicks ass!

This is one very excellent piece of work. The environment here is very detailed and lush, something that you don't see very often in a piece of CG work. Excellent piece!

Your nature is VRay Displacement only or you used NATfx or XFrog or SpeedTree?

You can post one tutorial for your lightning parameters and nature, is so beautifull in my eyes

华仔。。

It's beautiful, I like your style a lot. Very nice and warm and peaceful. The only thing that bothers me is the girl. She seems a little stiff, sort of like a doll. It also seems that her head is a little too big for her body, and that might make her look less realistic. But it's just a small nitpick. :) I love the textures and the interesting shapes of the bridge and the house and the overall mood and atmosphere of this image.

Only thing I can see that is odd is the position of her legs they look like they are resting on something that is not there.... But considering all the other Supurb detail there is in the picture and the simple position of a leg is all I can see I say AMAZING!! Great textures.. Fantastic render, Great all around. Nice work :applause:

Amazing work, love the color concept and the tone of the scene,i was thinking if you have had ever planned of doing a tutorial of how you achieve your textures,it would help a lot since you seem to always get them right.
Do you know if theres something similar to vr displacement for the grass on Maya?,becuase i've never used vray and i dont know hoy the vray displacement works.
Thanks. Again,very good job.

Nice and hard work done, but there are few things that don't let me give your image thumbs up:
1. About the girl: She looks toyish - plastic like and spoils the whole impression and the image. To be more precise - look at her: she looks like a doll from Barbie party - straight, plastic like hair and so on... Second thing about her: it's nice sunny morning in a beatifull forest near a nice little stream, the girl even took her shoes off. It seems that she should be realy relaxed and you intended to make her look relaxed. Didn't you? And now look at her posture: no woman or man on earth woul sit like this if he's relaxed - try to sit and hold your legs like she's holding them - you would have to tense your muscles and it wouldn't be at all relaxing unless there's something to support them. I have just tried it my self - most unpleasent way of holding one's legs :) -> I know you have put a lot of effort - no offense please. Correct me if I'm wrong.
2. About the stream: have you seen a real streem? (that was a rethoric question) -> every thing that grows in a stream lean a little bit to the side of the current flow. And floating plants (like the ones near the girl) stretch out in the direction of the current - even if the current is not strong. However the current of your stream seems to have no impact on those floating water plants. The second thing about the stream: every object the water in the stream collapses with leaves a trail of some kind - that depends on the strenght of the current. But whatever is the strength of the current, objects always leave at least some distortion that is distinguishable in the closeups.
I'm fully aware that you may have tried to do your best, but that is my first impression. No offence. Great work anyway.
