Newtek has just announce a training bundle for LW, while keeping the $1595 price tag.

They're throwing in 6 books, 4 DVDs, and a copy of "Kaze : Ghost Warrior". I'm trying to figure out why they would do this AFTER Siggraph, unless...

From personal experience, Lightwave's a great app, but XSI's new pricing structure must be playing hell with Newtek's strategic planning department.

That was my immediate reaction. I wish them well... but fear they are going to be in a bad situation in a years time. LW vets have been worrying about the Newtek situation for a very long time... and this may just be the straw that breaks the camels back. But maybe not.

Dunno, if they can adapt, they'll come out stronger.

I'm glad to see that users who recently switched are already so confident in Softimage, but this thread is a bit dangeours (highly flamable) and it would belong more to general discussions then to here.

this forum is better suited to things that are end2end into Softimage (discussing how to do in XSI something that can be done in another SW is still self exhausting inside XSI).

I have to close the thread, sorry about it but we are seeing a radical increment of the userbase, the past week and the coming ones are crucial to keep the comunity peaceful and contributive.

P.S.
that monty Python pic cracked me up 4 times more then it could have cracked up anybody else.
I just finished working on a Gilliam movie, and one day, after we got a major change that basically wasted a month of my work, that was the pic a colleague sent me :)
