blacknight 08-04-2002, 07:58 PM i installing maya on linux redhat 4.7 but ihave some problem when i try to install awcommon it says that it need a library called libxm.so.2 and i dont know where to get it, can anyone help me

On the internet, it exist website named search engine.
You can find one named Google.
Go on and tape the name of your need.
IT'S MAGIC !! There is a lot of site that talk about libxm.so.2 .
But...i give you an advice... install red hat 7.2 ( NOT 7.3 ! Maya doesn't run with ). :wip:

not long ago i've found an article in deathfall.com which has library fix files that can enable us to use Maya 4 in RH linux 7.3. I'm running maya 4 in RH 7.3 smoothly now with problems free.
maybe u guys can try it out.
it's not officially supported by AW but i believe it runs well. and u've to force ur openmotive installation by this command:
rpm -ihv --force openmotive.x.xx.rpm
after that, install ur maya as usual.
last apply ur library fix.
type : maya in Prompt.
