Awesome work there!
Quick question : what technique did you use for the trees? Are they just painted planar object, or full 3D?

Hi!
[Quick question : what technique did you use for the trees? Are they just painted planar object, or full 3D?]
thanks for the compliments!
The trees are partly 3D (with the plugin druid) und partly in photoshop (different sources eg. personal or fellow's holliday photos etc...) composited to the background.
tomorrow i can post a 3dmax tree of mine. And i will give this maxfile for free, because i think it's quite difficult to make a nice tree with "druid".
So, until tomorrow ;-)

Gadric

Those are some really nice looking screens. How do things look zoomed in to the size the player will/would see? What type of game is this for? RPG? Looks good :D

Hi,
Thank you for all your comments!
At the time i cant show you some characters :-(. But maybe next month...
Oh and the game shoud'nt be a fantasy-diablo-game, but in this scene i wanted to get a creepy design because of the graveyard. there are other screens with flowers and such girls stuff ;-)
But ,today i want to show you one of the 3D trees i used in the screens as fundamental for the later 2D part.
I have made 2 versions of it. They are saved in the preset menu in the max file, which i wanna share with you. Feel free to use this one (no textures included). But i must say, that the tree can have very much polys, if you playing around with the setup. The "normal" tree has around 300k polys ;-) ok, not very nice to handle, but like i sad, play around with the setting. In my scenes the trees have ~20k polys, for high poly scenes its ok i think. For closeup scenes you need some other trees i think, but with this plugin "druid" you get some nice trees for such isometrical things i made.

Truly impressive! I agree about the clean look of a few things underground, but overall everything looks great. Something to work toward for me!

Thanks you all. Comparing with diablo makes me a little bit proud. I will take the clean grounds in my mind for the next screens( the cellars in the other thread), so they are still wips. Maybe next week i will finish this 3 rooms.
Thanks again!
best regards!
