Hey I'm the first one :)

Here my pic...

Aprox. 1 hour in Photoshop...

didn't see the movie :x

dictionary.com says
Requiem:
'song or hymn of mourning composed or performed as a memorial to a dead person'

so instead of a requiem for a person that died it is a requiem for a dream that died?

You could say its that Cyanid, but I guess any interpretion will do with such a "vague" theme.

Check out the movie, I think "ultra heavy" is an understatement for describing the movie.

http://www.jawine.com/170804_requiemforadream.jpgGood old Photoshop, around 45 minutes and most importantly fineliner on copying paper, I can't really draw in Photoshop even with my A4 Wacom O_o

This one is based on the movie 'requiem for a dream' I haven't seen it but from what I read on imbd.com it was a movie with a sad ending for the drug-addicted main character. Hence this wee scribble.

All the best,

Jawine :D

Here is something that is sort of a surreal Dream scene...everything is strange and off kilter. It's supposed to be a pic where things are just strange and weird. I just got painter 8 and I was playing with the Sargent Brush and I just sort of came up with this. It obviously has nothing to do with the movie though but that's fine, and from what I've heard of that movie...it's fecked up!

I'm not creative at all today.. Photo used as reference, and I used the color picker too.. :/
I loved the movie, btw!

Pah, still didnt come up with any good ideas.

Drumwhore: Excellent sketch, even with the help you used. ;) Only the right side of the mouth seems a bit weird. Great sketch nevertheless.
Rasdasa: Great surrealistic pic as always.
Balistic: I love it! Great Atmosphere, could be scene right out of the movie. Great subtlety in those brushstrokes!
3db2: Nice sketch, I like the watercolors in it. The only thing that bothers me is the cat. Looks like someone squashed the right side of its head.

A Romanian fell from horizontal bar in the Olympic Gymnastics yesterday...ruined their chance for gold ... a requiem for their dream ...

you might have guessed the I haven't read the book or seen the movie.

Drumwhore: great sketch, very artistic for someone not feeling creative :) . Right side of the face looks a bit flat.

Rasdasa: that's one great looking twisted:twisted: dream.

balistic: looks like she's commin' out of the wall. Very nice tones and mood.

3db2: nice sketch. Didn't recognize the hypodermic syringe at first, thought it was a sigarette... I think you could leave the cat out to emphazise the lonelyness and desperateness some more. Although the cat looks a bit deperate herself... just like mine when she's hungry:)

Requim for a dream
http://www.bolman.nl/cgtalk/0073.jpg

Photoshop/Wacom/20 Minutes.

A late one. I Figured even Hellknights get their own requim when they get send back to hell and see their dreams of conquering earth falling to pieces.

Been playing a lot of doom III :D

Thanks! The cracks were derived from a photo I took of an old painted board. Here is a link to the full 2048x1536 file:

http://www.bprince.com/CrackledB.jpg

I just placed it on a separate layer above my painting and set its blending mode to "divide". Feel free to use it if you want.
