[WIP] Matt Damon

Started out in colour then made it greyscale.
Nailed down the outlines and facial fetures and then tossed the photo.

I really dig the progress you showed so far ... on crit tough is that it look like he's got a bald spot at his right temple

Funny thing is tho, he has gotten a lot older and its starting to show on the latest pictures. Doesnt look like something robbed from the craddle anymore :P

Funny idea, and you've made great progress so far. I hope you detail the coffee cup, though. A novelty cup design and the "sippy cup" cover on top so Matt doesn't spill on himself would be a great finishing touch. :thumbsup:

I just love the book by Terry Pratchet where he describes how Death is drinking from a cup with the text "worlds greatest granddad" :D

Im thinking about using the steam from the coffie to draw some attantion so no sippy cover. Tho I have no idea what the text on the cup should be so DO come with some suggestion :)

Eureka! :lightbulb If everybody's gonna be drinking coffee, what if they all have the same kind of coffee cup?

nice work so far. my crit is that you're not quite there with some of the features that make matt damon look like matt damon. especially his eyes and the area around his eyes because that's where we look first. matt has interesting eyebrows. they're not just curved dark archs above his eyes. the skin below the brow and just above his eyes needs more shading, especially above and around his left eye. the corners of his mouth and nostrils could be darker. also his hair needs more darks and lights instead of midtones. i think you've got a nice piece here, just a few small touches so he feels like the celeb that we all know. :thumbsup:

what strikes me a bit is that his right eyebrow is a bit too round just looks a bit unnatural ... his right ear is also a bit too long - at least it looks like that to me... don't forget to give him some wrinkles later on - as you already said not robbed from the cradle anymore ;)

(my boyfriend loves this site, now he can play CS without having me asking him a thousand questions asking for second opinions :p )

honestly i like your colored version so far ... but the greyscale one had an own character to it that did the pic itself an favor

Well, first time painting black and white first, borrowed the background from the picture charlie thats in my signature. (I will paint another background when I had one day of sun to get some refference, im in no rush with this one.)

The outcome was pretty similar to the portrait on charlie, yet it took twice as long.
Now it may be a bit easier to draw charlie since I know her but I guess Its faster to draw the way i did on her portrait.

Im not that happy with the colourversion on Damon either, tried a couple of different methods of colouring. This one is a single colourlayer, the other ones was coloured by changing Hue/saturnation level. (wont link to any since im not happy with them)
