View Full Version : Opening website image (any ideas or critiques would be great)

After spending two weeks learning how to do very basic webpage design I'm finally getting around to putting something together, so far what I have is my sidebar all done including rollovers etc...my site runs using two frames, the frame on the left for the sidebar and the main frame on the right, right now I'm just experimenting with Java script on the main page when it loads up so that a different image will be displayed each time (the big colored squares are just dummy files), anyways, I'm ditching the javascript on the index page and I'm trying to come up with a solid image that is displayed everytime someone goes to the index of my site, this is what I have been working on tonight

Any critiques, ideas, comments or opinions on what I can do to this image would be great

When designing for the web, try to keep in mind that your work may be viewed on all kinds of different systems, with all kinds of displays. If you use too little contrast, some of your website's visitors will probably miss all of the details.

So make your name stand out more, people are going to visit your page to see your work, they should at least be able to read your name. :)

thanks for the comments, I'm going to work on making my name a little bigger and a lot clearer, do you think I should include more of those boxes around the outside edge? keep in mind this is going on a black background...

not really no, just something to fill in a void really, I was thinking about making them buttons to certain images but I don't want people to just get right to the index page, click on the button and then be sent right to some image in the gallery for example, but I still feel like I need to add something else to it for one reason or another..the only reason why they are there is to just show small samples of my work which can be found within the site
