View Full Version : Vehicle: Historic Ferrari Transporter
Hi,
I finally went back and finished this old project.
It is a model of the transporter that the Ferrari race dept. used to transport the race cars around the circuits of Europe in the late 50s and through the sixties.
The doors and ramps are all seperate and in the near future I plan to do some cars to put on it, and do a still life with the mechanics working on them.
cheers
Rodz
One for the true car enthusiasts, you creature modellers, I know... yawn.

Wuhuw:applause:
Really great work, I like it alot
it's fun to see that it's not a typically car you've modelled but and old special one
my only crit the cabin does look a little empty
Keep up the good work

Hey, I saw this thing on TV not long ago. Really nice looking truck (the real thing and your model). It looks close enough as to where I recognized it immediately, but I don't remember it that well to give you a critique on accuracy.
What I can say, however, is that the angle of the camera makes it look like a toy (maybe the textures too). But other than that ... really good job!

thanx guys for the comments, I wasn't expecting much response for this model.
The cabin is pretty bare, even the real thing from what I can gather, just a couple of seat and a bunk bed for the mechancis, but I will detail it more if I ever get better reference.
Its pretty hard to find an angle that shows the whole thing, but I will post some better images on my website a little later, I have a good one posed with the ramps down and doors open etc.
The texture maps look pretty bad in this image but it is mainly due to jpg compression. Looks much better on larger images.
anyway
cheers

I am doing a scene more or less like yours only it´s for the year 2001 :D
modelling the car and then I will model the truck, I have blueprints and references of the new truck.
Are you interested ?
Absolutely soundwave_46,
I would love a copy.
I have a list of things I want to work through, there are eight cars that aren't Ferraris and the rest is a stupidly ambitious project of modelling all Ferraris as well as the Factory, through all its changes and stages. May get it finsihed by the time I am dead.

is the latest part of the project, tell me what you think of the ideia and then we can get in touch
sounds like a good idea to me. We could perhaps start a casual Ferrari modellers club and work on the "Grand" project together.
I have to finish two websites (which is what I do for a job) and then I will work on a website for it.

you look like you have plenty of potential

I'm also glad to see something a little different than the luxury or high-performance vehicle. Good choice :)

I have put some more images up hear
