View Full Version : how to type in the coordinates of a vertex?
nozoku 08-15-2004, 02:24 PM I'm new to Wings3D and I'm looking for a way to type in the coordinates (X,Y,Z) for a vertex... is it possible?

I replied to your thread in the Wings forums.
Hold down shift while doing an operation (Work's for most dragging operations) It'll snap the movement/extrusion by 1.00 Wings units, which is 1 grid unit.
Also hold ctrl for snapping by 0.100. Holding shift and ctrl snaps by 0.010.
Hope that helped:D

@nemyax: I know that it seems THAT obvoius, but I want to type in the absolute coordinates NOT relative (distance) :) AFAIK now it's impossible in Wings3D.

In general, no, because all movements are relative to the current position (assuming you don't want to do a bit of maths prior to using Tab move)
I'd suggest investigating the uses of Bounding Box Commands, Scale to a point, and Flatten (rmb option) - after establishing suitable references / datums / grids where necessary.
Some of this is covered at the linked site.
