Hi dear friends.. :)

I was setting a character setup. In the pelvis of my chain bones I "linked" a point (protactor) and using point constraint I linked the IK handles of the feet in this point. So, I can't control this point.... It's loked and only de iK handles can move they.

But I want more control.. more precision.. I want move the pelvis and at the same time I want that the IK handles move they too!

How do I control that point??? How I do this???

Thanks masters..

Ohhh.. other question:

How I put the spring controller (for simulate dynamics) in my IK handdles... ???

i don't really get what you mean :)

you have a skeleton and you have a locator (or whatever) parented to the pelvis !? then you have done the well known point constraining of the two ik handles of the legs to this locator !? right so far ?

i don't know why the transforms of the (locator) are locked !!! in normal case you need only parent this point to the root (pelvis) and that's it. have you done a point constraint on this to the pelvis ? then it's not locked , it's just "keyed" to get the motion from the pelvis.

before i do a point constraint i always group the locator (or whatever) and then do the point constraint to the group. after that i have the freedom to move the locator under the group independendly.

so i hope that's what you've ment !?

if not explain the exact way you did.

yes. it is that! :)

yes... I made that...:)

have you done a point constraint on this to the pelvis ?

no no... I only parent this point to the root and constraint the IK handles of the feet for this point. So.. this point is in the average of the positions of IK handles.. Then, when I move IK handles for the front, the pelvis come together.

But sometimes I want move with the mouse this point... But the point don't move.

Well... I will work more in the maya to seeing what is happening.

thanks:cool:

if you parented the locator to the root and then did the point constraint of the ik's to this locator, nothing should be happen with your root, because the pelvis is a parent of the locator and childs don't affect their parents. if you did it the other way, parented the pelvis under the locator it should work and you still have control. just grab the pelvis joint and move it freely. only it's parent (the locator is locked to the ik's). the pelvis will move with the locator (it is his parent) but you can independendly move it.

it is really!

thanks... I understood my problem... I find...

other..:

The pelvis (root) are parented with the locator... Then, when I click in locator all my bones select... Doesn't this affect the application of the contraint??? How I select only the locator??

you've selected only the locator. if you take a look into the outliner you'll see. it just looks like in the viewport. but it only gives you aŽn information about the hirarchie :)

i would be glad if it would select the whole hirarchie :)

it was that I imagined. . . . only viewport :buttrock:

thanks for all.
