View Full Version : live video with webcam?
have a Logitech QuickCam Pro 4000 webcam.
Is it possible to put live webcam streaming in as a background in MB?
I'm making some early tests on how to combine mocap and videostreaming in an augmented space. A mixed reality so to say.

Why don't you just create a Quicktime movie (or AVI or whatever) of your camera output, and then use that file as a backdrop? Use a screen capture utility to capture your movie.
Hmmm.... Well the idea was that it should be realtime.

In other words, you want to take in live video from a streaming site, composit your animating 3D model live (using the incoming video as a background), and then send the finished result out live as an outgoing video stream.
Sorry that I didnt explain the reason for my question. Here goes:
I'm want to make an augmented/mixed reality enviorment for my diploma in the danish architecture school. Now I'm examining different ways to establish this.
One way could be through the viewport of a 3d app.
I would then track a persons movements in real space and have that drive a cg skeleton in the viewport (mocap). Then I would link a cam to the skeletons head/view.
In the real world I would mount a webcam to the real persons head and give him some i-glasses on.
If I could then display the webcam REALTIME in the i-glasses I would have established a parallel virtual world that could be altered and changed REALTIME with the tools of the 3d app.
Is it more clear?
