CGTalk - no connections showing in effects tree

i got one single display problem in xsi 2.0.1

in the fx tree, the connections between operators don't show up, the connections are there and working though

i read about this problem some time ago, back then i didn't use xsi though (yeah i know, punish me) so i forgot what the root of the problem was

do i need the 2.0.2 patch ?
or could it be the wrong detonators (running 29.42 on gf4 ti4400) ?

i think it can be fixed by using the opengl 1.3 patch available at www.edharriss.com.... I never had this problem but i think that will fix it as i heard from a pal who had the same prob....

nope, already got that installed because of the wireframe probs, there must be another solution :(
